When to seek help for addiction
Signs it may be time to talk to someone
- Finding it hard to stop even when you want to
- Spending more time or money than you intended
- Hiding the behaviour from family
- Feeling restless or irritable when you can’t engage in it
- Problems at work, study or home because of it
- Using it to cope with stress or low mood
Alcohol and drug dependence can require medically supervised detox and specialist rehabilitation. If that applies, Ayesha will refer you to a psychiatrist or rehabilitation centre and can support you and your family alongside treatment.
Sessions are held in person in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, or online across Pakistan and worldwide, in Urdu or English.
If you are in immediate danger or thinking of harming yourself, go to your nearest hospital emergency department or call 1122. Counselling is not an emergency service.
