Trauma Counselling & PTSD Support

After a frightening or distressing event, it's common to feel shaken for weeks.

Trauma counselling offers a safe, paced space to talk and to learn ways to feel steadier day to day. Sessions are available in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and online.

How counselling helps with trauma

Practical, confidential support

Counselling focuses on safety and stabilisation first: understanding your reactions, calming your body and rebuilding daily routine. You never have to share more than you’re ready to.

  • Understanding normal responses to trauma
  • Grounding techniques for flashbacks and panic
  • Sleep and routine support
  • Rebuilding a sense of safety and control
  • Support for family members

Related support: Individual counselling, Anxiety, Grief & loss.

When to seek help for trauma

Signs it may be time to talk to someone

  • Flashbacks or unwanted memories of the event
  • Nightmares or trouble sleeping
  • Feeling constantly on guard or easily startled
  • Avoiding places, people or conversations that remind you of it
  • Feeling numb, detached or unusually angry
  • Guilt or shame about what happened

PTSD is best treated with trauma-focused therapies delivered by a specialist clinical psychologist. When symptoms suggest PTSD, Ayesha will refer you to a specialist and can offer supportive counselling alongside.

Sessions are held in person in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, or online across Pakistan and worldwide, in Urdu or English.

If you are in immediate danger or thinking of harming yourself, go to your nearest hospital emergency department or call 1122. Counselling is not an emergency service.
